Thanks for warm welcomes from everyone ....

@ weimarmama - thanks for the info. But, as I have mentioned to another group member, we have not had the best success with hatching our own eggs. Until we get the process down, it would be a waste to spend good $$$ on eggs - better to buy them as chicks. And actually, there have been a couple of other hints from members as to where we can get chicks.

Thanks again for the helpful hint and the welcome ....

Hello and welcome from Sacramento, neighbor! big_smile.png

My family loves the Apple Farm area.  We go every autumn.  I was just looking at some real estate up there.  The Apple Cellar is for sale and would be tempting if it had a home on the property!  (Don't tell my dear hubby!)

Camino is a lovely area, with just the right weather year round.  -not too cold in winter, yet not too hot in summer.  I bet you and your wife have very happy chickens.  Welcome to BYC!

Wife of 1 wonderful husband, homeschooling mom to 1 super son and "MamaRoo" to 1 Shih-Tzu (that can't be trusted around my chicks), 1 RIR, 1 BO, 1 PBR and we provide room & board to occasional Cornish X (give or take 8 weeks)!

5 Easter Egger chicks and 16 Silkie chicks!
