Yes, they should produce blue sexlinks, however the blue gene can make seeing the head spot and barring difficult to see.

No sexlinking. If your CCL is the real deal and not a look-alike imposter, then you have a good chance of hatching some Olive Eggers with your Marans hens.Hello allI am relatively new to chickens (Started my flock towards the end of the season last year). Currently I have 4 egg layers of brown and light brown (cream?) eggs. They are Isa Brown, Buff Orpington, Black Sex Link, and Silkie. I'm very excited about my chicks this season! I have 2 Black Copper Maran pullets, 2 Cream Crested Legbar pullets, and 1 Cream Crested Legbar roo. I can't wait to see these new egg colors in the nest box! I ran across this thread and now my wheels are spinning! I think I'm reading that if I cross my CCL roo and my BCM hen, I'll get yet another egg color? Would they be sex linked?
I'm confident that he's the real dealNo sexlinking. If your CCL is the real deal and not a look-alike imposter, then you have a good chance of hatching some Olive Eggers with your Marans hens.
Depends. If the Easter Eggers are pure for the blue egg shell gene, then the offspring should all lay a shade of green. Results will be more varied and complicated if your Easter Eggers have genetics for green shells.I've got Easter Eggers and plan to cross breed some with some Black Australorps. What color egg would I be getting from that combo if anyone knows? Someone told me I'd get a very pale green egg out of it.
Photos please!!!! Would love to see the eggs you are getting- and the hens that lay them!I like the variety of shades in olive eggers. I don't think darker is always better. My favorite olive shade is medium olive green with speckles. I'm trying different pairing for my F3s. This first batch I bred to a cream Legbar roo. Next batch I'll breed to a Marans roo.
