END OF FEB. HATCH-ALONG, ANYONE?

Out of curiosity- those of you who hatch large numbers of chicks.....what do you do with them all? I went to pick up another feeder & waterer while they were still on sale and they had Silkie chicks. Ahhhhhhh! I couldn't resist & picked up 3.

I am going to keep some to hopefully replace my older/lesser quality hens, and I am selling a lot of them to fund my chicken hobby! I just heard some peeping and the eggs have been rocking, so hopefully will have some chicks tomorrow!

four live beautiful babies and one dead :/ the remaining chicks are three black (the sex-linked ones, 2 pullets and a cockerel) and one surprise...pure white! i think her mom, black sex-link, must have a little white rock in her BR side of the family but idk

they're still fluffing out a bit, so pics tomorrow!

Sorry for the loss, tinychicky, but great to hear there's still new life! Can't wait to see pictures.

I woke up to five more pips this morning. One of them is an egg from my own chickens, so very very excited!

I will join, Mine are due Monday or Tuesday but not sure what will happen, the glass in my incubator broke this morning after lockdown last night. I cleaned it up and got the eggs back in as fast I could, but the temp is still a bit low. had two get cracked, covered crackes with candle wax. We will see what happens.

I'm in the same position. My incubator dropped to 86 degrees last night. I hope my chicks are okay. I go on lock down tomorrow (day 18).

My hatch is moving right along. So far 8 out of 27 have hatched I have 7 more pips and maybe more. The chicks that are in there are rolling the eggs like mad so it's hard to tell if they are pipped or not. Hard to be patient and wait. I would love to take the babies out now but I don't want to drop the temp and humidity so that the rest don't hatch. Especially when they are doing so well now.

Woohoo, glad a few of you are getting chicks now. Today is day 20 for me, and I just had 2 hatch(1 Lavender Orpington, 1 BLRW). Plenty more are pipped, so it should be a busy night!

Not sure what to think for me now, out of 25 for sure live chicks at lockdown only five have hatched so far and all were yesterday evening. One piped and suffocated because a chick tilted its egg. There are only two other pips now. I snuck two different eggs out through the top window (LG incubator) and candled them and I could see the chicks moving inside and there was no internal pip. Those early five I am guessing were in hot spots. Any other Ideas? This has me worried and it is hard to be patient! I set on 2/5 late morning so hopefully overnight/tomorrow morning I have a lot of activity in the bator!
