Another vote for the hatchery quality Wellie.

Are her legs okay? I know she's standing weird but one pic looks like scaly mites? Check it out just to be sure, you don't want stuff like that in your flock.

Just noticed today my Grange will be ordering Welsummer chicks. Think I'll get a few, I'd love those dark eggs!

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

I wonder if she could be a cross between the two? She has a bit of white in her lobes, but not much. We'll find out as soon as she starts laying.

Chickens: 4 RIR, 1 HRIR roo, 1 BA hen, 13 AGF, 2 BA/RIR. Ducks: 1 Mallard drake and 4 little Coturnix quail. Everything else: 6 dogs, 6 cats, a pot bellied pig and one stubborn Mustang that rules the field!

I checked her legs out after I took the pictures since it looked a little weird and I noticed the way her feet looked, but she's fine. When I picked her up this morning when we caught her (which wasn't hard at all) she seemed a little under weight and she certainly acted like she hadn't eaten in a while. She looks like she's a heavy girl, but she does weigh much and I'm worried about that, but she ate good when we fed her so I don't think that's going to be a problem. I just wish I knew who she belongs to. I only know of one person in the area that raises egg layers, but he only has easter-eggers. I know everyone within a mile of me that raises chickens and there aren't many. Most of them raise games and a game she is not.

Ok I was wrong. She did have leg mites. So far the scales on her legs have laid down and look normal, but her feet.... her feet just won't do what I want them to. I suppose they just need more time and Pam. No one has claimed her and no one I know that has chickens (in the area) knows anyone with chickens that look even close to her. No eggs yet either, but it has been decided that she'll be going in the coop with my RIRs and BA.
