I have a few wyandottes of varying colours and ages and would appreciate any help to sex them. This is the first time I have had chooks so my knowledge is limited. Please help!

I'd say chook 4 is a cockerel. I wouldn't want to pin myself down on the other ones. Those Silver Laced look a bit red for their ages, but they don't seem to be showing the male feathering pattern yet, but I'm not sure mine did at that age either. Chook 5 is a little red for that age too.

I'd say the Australorp is a pullet though, but that's not my breed.
I lost my whole flock due to poor biosecurity. Read about it here: Infectious Laryngotracheitis, and learn from my mistakes so it doesn't happen to you.

All but #4 look like pullets. (Splash laced is also known as blue laced red, btw. Beautiful color.) The Australorp looks like she could be somewhere around 5 months.

Enjoy your birds and welcome to BYC! frow.gif

I'd say chook 5 is a hen.

Orpingtons are the best breed. Fluffy butts, huge eyes and such a friendly temperament.....what more could you want?

I've only raised one SLW, but I would guess yours are all pullets.
