Will be interesting to see how they turn out :)  You are right that Khakis are much lighter as ducklings than your two are (in mentioning Khakis I just meant to say that yours might not be solid coloured but may have a slight pencilled pattern to the feathers, like Khaki and Dark Campbells do). I had two that looked the same colour as your two and they both turned out dark chocolate coloured. They had (and still have) black bills and feet. But you are the one who can see your ducklings up close - it's not quite the same only seeing a photo online :)  Having said that, here is a black duckling for comparison:

This is a photo of a cayuga, pekin, and a swede. I wish I had a better photo of these guys for comparison, but if I had to guess I'd say you have a cayuga and swede.... started a poll yet?big_smile.png

Cayuga ducks can hatch with a faint bib on the front but in pure Cayugas this disappears (by about 5 or 6 weeks of age). The presence of a faint bib si just something that goes hand in hand with black ducklings and doesn't mean the duckling is not a Cayuga. So, even the one with the bib could turn out the one colour all over.

Sometimes I feel like the bib is starting to disappear.  It isn't as bold as it was when we first got them.  When he swims it is almost completely gone...I have to look near his beak to see who is Pip and who is Squeak. :)  Of course when he was outside it looked really apparent though, lol.  They are starting to get too big for the brooder but it isn't warm enough outside to go out yet, and the big ducks don't seem too interested in them.  The few times we have been able to get outside they haven't chased them like they used to though so that is a plus.

cocoa: I see what you are saying with the different coloring.  I have noticed a lot of feathers coming off in baths and stuff but they are only almost 3 weeks old.  The big ducks didn't start getting big feathers for a few more weeks so I am interested to see what colors they end up having.   I guess we have a few weeks to a month to see what they end up looking like.  I would really like to have something we don't have, that is the only reason I am hoping for something other then runners.

nartoday: The caygua and swede are almost exactly what my babies looked like when they were first brought home.
