Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

I love Akita's! They are so gorgeous with their plush fur. It's the main reason I fell in love with them, their coat, so think and soft like a beaver or otter. I'm sure they shed a lot though! The only thing I'm concerned about is their dominant personality and training them. Does anybody have any tips for training them? I would love to get one when i have my own place with a big yard, but want to know exactly what I'de be greeting intowink.png

When she is shedding I usually take the vaccum to her everyday lol. Yes very dominant personality. Crate training helped alot with her. It also took awhile when she was young to know the meaning of no. She would know it ment stop but would try to find a different way around it to still get in trouble. Very clever dogs. It just takes time and alot of work. She is amazing now and lives to please. Loves to show off her tricks when people come over without anyone even giving her a command. Her favortie is balancing on her hind legs till someone comes up to pet her lol.
