divide brooder for Wednesday/Friday chicks?

Thread Starter

Next week my day old chicks arrive from two different hatcheries.  Should I divide the brooder into two different sections for the first few days until everyone is strong?  I'm worried that the Wednesday chicks may pick on the Friday chicks.  Suggestions?

Two days shouldn't make that much of a difference.  Just watch them.  And be ready, just in case....

Absolutely NO need to separate them.  That's not enough of an age difference to worry about.  I have put 3 day old chicks in with two week old chicks, more than once.

Buncha PET chickens, ducks, and a pair of Toulouse geese.  Oh, plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and 2 cats which own me.

Last chick season I added chicks up to two weeks apart. I watched them, but had no issues.  Hopefully I'll be as lucky this year big_smile.png

WAY too many chickens, two roosters, two dogs, two cats, three rabbits, an aviary full of birds and two amazing children. I NEED A RENTAL IN THE CLAYTON AREA IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF ONE!
