Next week my day old chicks arrive from two different hatcheries. Should I divide the brooder into two different sections for the first few days until everyone is strong? I'm worried that the Wednesday chicks may pick on the Friday chicks. Suggestions?

I got 10 White Polish, 6 Buff Polish. Straight Run. Unfortunately my dog got hold of one on day 2. They're still young so I'm not sure if he got a buff or white one since they're still hard...

Two days shouldn't make that much of a difference. Just watch them. And be ready, just in case....

Absolutely NO need to separate them. That's not enough of an age difference to worry about. I have put 3 day old chicks in with two week old chicks, more than once.

Buncha PET chickens, ducks, and a pair of Toulouse geese. Oh, plus 2 wiener dogs, some bunnies and 2 cats which own me.

Last chick season I added chicks up to two weeks apart. I watched them, but had no issues. Hopefully I'll be as lucky this year ![]()

WAY too many chickens, two roosters, two dogs, two cats, three rabbits, an aviary full of birds and two amazing children. I NEED A RENTAL IN THE CLAYTON AREA IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF ONE!
