Does anyone know what breed or breeds that Henry might be?  I haven't found any photos that look like him.

Thanks for the help.

I wondered about Buttercup when I saw his comb, but I didn't know if any other breeds carried that trait.  He does have just the 4 toes.  He's a very quiet and gentle bird .

I agree on the buttercup.  No idea what else though, but obviously a crested breed.

Breeding Welsummers and Barnevelders.

Having an Icelandic in the coop is like having a 2 year old in the house - they are into everything and don't follow the rules.

I have zero chicken willpower.

Thank you both for replying.  It's interesting to find out what some of these mixed birds are.  I really like his spiky little crest.  My DH calls him "Dragon" instead of Henry :)  Now I can tell him that Buttercup and Dragon would definitely cancel each other out.

I'd say he doesn't have buttercup in him, rather he is a Polish cross. Crossing a Polish with a straight combed breed often yields a comb similar to a buttercup.

Thank you vcomb. I didn't know that. He is in the pen with a bunch of mixed birds so it will be fun seeing what kind of chicks come out of it.

I think he is exquisite. Beautiful eye, and those feathers, like jewels.

Vcomb is correct.  He is a Polish mix; no buttercup in the mix.
