I just found these old pictures of our original hens. We still have the red star, and she's still pumping out eggs, at 6 years old. The Easter Egger (or brown egger, she layed brown eggs, but we didn't even know Easter Eggers layed green eggs back then), sadly died from a wound that got infected with maggots. We did everything we could to save her. We miss you, sweet Apolla.
The black one we traded in for a Production Red, whom we also still have today. The black one crowed...so, back to the farm for her!
Here they are.
All three:

Apolla, our Easter Egger. R.I.P sweet baby doll:
And Luna, whom we have today:
I have six lovable hens: Luna (6 year old red star), Buckbeak and Asha (young black star sisters), Sage (my lone surviving white leghorn), Bedazzle (my grey/splash EE) and Pepper (my silver laced wyandotte)!
I also have a dog and a hedgehog :)
R.I.P Ava, Sprite, and Hedwig (Sage's siblings) Redtail, and Apolla.
