The creature dodged in a flurry of black wings, coming around behind Lark and shoving him forward as he lunged, making him fall forwards onto his head.

The figured aimed one last kick at Lark's head, smashing it into the stone floor before running over to Kate.

Kate lay sprawled on the ground, her paws splayed in odd directions. He picked her up in his paws, his expression almost tortured with grief as he stared at her mangled face. "Aw Kate" He murmured, smoothing back her fur which was spiked with dried blood. "What have you gotten yourself into this time?"

"Jack..." She murmured, her voice hardly audible.

She slumped forwards against his body and he wrapped his paws around her, holding her close against his chest.

Ignoring Lark, he spread his wings and lifted him and her into the air, carrying them both towards a hole in the ceiling.

They whisked through the hole and into the dazzling sunlight outside. The light at first was slightly disorienting, but soon he found his way to the hole that led back into Lake Lakia. He entered into a steep dive, shooting through the hole and past any guards.

Thistles, her group, and Pacu soon flew through the gates after flying for almost seven hours on end. "Alright Pacu, we're here." Thistles landed on the soft grass, still running from landing. She began to slow down, all the way to a firm stop, as they found themselves right before the great city.
