New ducklings soon...separate?

So I have ordered my two ducklings (a short while ago) and am expecting them around Feb 21rst. I was told that if i want them to imprint on me really well, I should keep them in separate brooders until around 3-4 weeks old and then introduce them. I didn't do this with my last two and they still followed me and snuggled but I'm sure they'd be even more clingy this way.Thing is, I don't have two heat lamps, and I don't want to make my parents buy another one.  Could I put them in the same brooder and maybe put a wall/barrier between so they can't see each other but both get equal and enough warmth?  Would it work the same or will they be sad because they could hear each other's peeping.  Also any advice on imprinting to make the bond stronger. Thanks!

Can you be with them both 24 hours a day?   If you separate them they are both lonely and its not really fair on the ducklings to raise them like that.  While sometimes people do end up having a single one after a bad hatch- to plan to raise single ducklings really isnt what nature intended for them.  They are a flock animal and much happier with company.   You can still raise them to be well bonded with you by handling them often.

I have 9 ducklings together and the ones I give special attention to are bonding great with me.  If you keep them together, they are not as scared and will be more curious with you. Please do not separate them!!

My menagerie includes 4 horses, 4 dogs, and 2 cats.
Geese: 8 dewlap toulouse (buff & grey), 5 african, 4 utility toulouse, and 2 african/toulouse
Ducks: 11 anconas, 3 cayugas, and 2 silver appleyards.

Ah alright then.  I'll just do it the way I did before. I'm not bashing anyone but an expirienced BYCer gave me info to do that so I figured it wouldn't be too bad for a few weeks.

I concur!!!!   Mmmm.  Popcorn.  It is almost time for my nightly dose.

I have 2 wonderful sons, 3 ducks (2 Anconas & 1 Buff), 4 laying hens, a Holland Lop bunny, and a big scaredy cat.  I am a Chef, Baker, Bluegrass "Musician" (I know, you can't do both) and artisan.
