Which bantam should i get? - Page 2

The only bantams I've had are Old English Game bantams and Japanese bantams. The OEGB are nice. Tame easy, actually lay alright and their eggs are big for a bantam egg, and they are really fun. I was really young when I had the Japanese, did not even know what breed they were at the time, The only thing I remember about them was that they would get pushed around by the other bantams, so I guess they were pretty gentle and easygoing.

Your criterias offer a wide spectrum of choices. Practically any one of the bantams that you can order from a hatchery would be fine. Are there any other factors that could help narrow down the choices?

I love Nankins. They are awesome but I wouldn't recommend tiny bantams in very cold weather unless you provide heat...you don't say if it gets cold where you are.

I also like bantam EEs. They are good layers.

My neighbor's japanese is on the bottom of the pecking order. My half OEGB pullet's eggs are already bigger than her belgian d'uccle momma's.

Thank you! We fell in love with these at the National show this last Fall.

lily6849, I'm just new at raising them, so I really don't know anything specific you should know. There is a D'Anver Club online that you could look up for more info.
