I know there is someone on BYC who has wonderful shipping photos and detailed instructions.  I just can't remember who it is.  I'll post a link if I can find it.

We use two boxes when we ship eggs.  The outside box is a 12 X 12 X 8 Priority Mail box from USPS.  The inside box varies depending on the number and size of eggs being shipped.  We put a layer of packing peanuts or a layer of shredded paper in the bottom of the large box and then put a layer of newspaper or bubble wrap over the top to keep these bits from moving around.  The smaller box is placed on top of the first layer of padding, and the space around the sides of the inner box is filled with packing peanuts or shredded paper.  A layer of shredded paper goes inside the inner box as a cushion for the eggs.

Each egg is placed on a strip of bubble wrap that is slightly wider than the egg.  The strip is rolled around the egg and secured with a piece of tape at the center, top, and bottom.  The pointy end of the bubble-wrapped egg is placed on the bed of shredded paper in the inner box.  Repeat wrapping, taping, and placing until all the eggs are in the inner box.  We add more shredded paper between eggs and over the top to keep them from shifting.  The inner box is taped shut, more packing peanuts or shredded paper covers the top of the inner box, and then the outside box is taped shut.

Edited - The pocket in the bubble wrap that Dipsy Doodle (link in previous post) uses looks much easier than taping top and bottom shut.  We'll use our bubble wrap that way from now on.  Great Link!

I know The Garry Farm has a detailed how-to as well here on BYC, but I can't make a link using my not-so-smart phone smile.png It is also for the individually bubble-wrapped, two-box method. I really prefer this over the egg carton one. It seems the messes I have received have been ones using cartons. That is just my personal experience.

The man I got some blue langshan eggs from has a video on it. I will have to say of the 15 eggs he sent me, 13 hatched! HIs names is James Meeks in Tennessee...HIs farm has a site and the video should be on his site. I'll post if I can retrace my steps to him

We now have lemon blue, brown red, mille fleur, and splash bantam cochins and blue/splash langshans! ...See my website for Show ASPC/AMHR horses. Will add the chickens to my site as they age and I can get good pictures!

That is a great video. It doesn't look like those eggs budged one bit.
