Is this a true Silkie?

Thread Starter

I got this from a lady when I was looking for a smooth feathered roo to put with my frizzle hens. She said it was a silkie but it doesn't look like any silkie I see on here. It has true feathers on top. Any thoughts?

kinda looks like a cochin x silkie but I am no silkie expert...by the way, Im pretty sure silkies are supposed to have black skin (comb and wattles), not red.

99.999% of girls would die if Justin Bieber appeared at their doorstep and asked for a date. If your that 0.0001% Who's wiping blood from your fist, put this in your siggy.

I believe silkie feathering is recessive...so most likely, he is second gen silkie cross. Probably silkie x cochin, then crossed back to a silkie.

Agreed on those that said pure silkie. I'm not seeing any cross there; he looks similar to a red silkie roo I used to have. He's not show quality, but is definitely silkie.
