Set eggs February 12th! Hatch a long with me! - Page 4

post #31 of 536

@ squawkbox

Wow! That is a BIG GUY! No wonder the GSD is ok with it wink.png

As for the coloration on the last girl...I'm not sure what that is....funny thing is, I hatched some eggs a couple of years ago from a friend. I ended up with a white hen with the brown "dusting" like that and he had no white hens at all. LOL...

Your Partridge girl does have a weak pattern but she is still lovely smile.png

@everyone

Eggs are holding okay at 100-102 in my LG still air. Humidity staying around 55%....Tuesday I candle so we'll see....

I also bought a second LG yesterday. Somehow I convinced the DH I needed a hatcher yesss.gif

Now if those ducks would just get going..... big_smile.png

I don't know anything about chicken genetics, but what about recessive genes for color? Like I have a white chick, but neither of the parents are white.

Candling day is tomorrow! I candled 3 of my 18 eggs yesterday. I could see veins in one, the other 2 I saw a dark red spot. I believe it was because of the different shell color. Tomorrow I will candle them all! wee.gifhu.gif I am excited and a nervous train wreck all in one! lol.png
