My first order from McMurray arrived late and DEAD, well one out of 26 survived. They send a replacement order. They were due yesterday, still not here today. They too will arrive DEAD. I will never order from McMurray again.
I now find several people with the same problem with MM. I should have asked you guys before I ordered.
I recommend that you avoid this hatchery.

I'm looking for a hatchery in Kentucky.

A guy I work with had 26 replacement chicks from MM come in this morning(a day later than scheduled) & all but 1 was DOA.....

I wouldn't blame the hatchery if the post office didn't deliver in a timely manner and the weather is very cold. The chicks may have been quite healthy when shipped.

oh no. I got mine yesterday from them. I was really concerned..but they're all alive. I'm worried about two - but they all arrived alive.

Mine arrived with 4 losses and 40 survivors. I also wouldn't blame the hatchery. I would blame the post office if they arrive late. I will likely also get a reship but I will ask them to delay a few weeks and not to send bantams if possible because they just seem to be more fragile.

I agree ~ there are many more people with good shipping stories than bad ones. We just seem to hear about the bad ones.

I am sorry you are having a bad experience and hope that your little ones arrive soon ~ alive and healthy!

I honestly can't believe all the people that blame a hatchery for something that is clearly a postal service problem!! You ordered them in the winter so you take the risk. Not trying to be mean but just sayin'!!

I have order from ideal many times and they hatch the chick wednesday and I have gotten every order by thrusday! I have lost a couple in 2 of the orders but I blame the P.O. Here becuase they take my birds out and handle them!!!!! But still I would recommend Ideal!

I also wouldn't blame the hatchery. USPS isn't always happy to have to carry those loud, chirping boxes around with them, and I wouldn't put it against a disgruntled postal worker to mishandle them (no offense meant to postal workers there). They were probably lost in transit at some point, and it is February. I ordered from McMurray last year, and I didn't loose a single chick. But my order came at the end of April when it was fairly warm. I got an order from Ideal a couple of weeks ago, and they're great as well. Its just the risk you take when you have chicks shipped to you in cold weather. So sorry about the loss of your babies.
