Defiantly not a runner. Runners stand much taller and at this age would be developing their signature sloped bill.

I would probably guess Swedish mix. What ever he is he sure is cute! (Also in regards to the post above mine, I would defiantly be removing that leg band soon rather than later.)

He sort of looks like some heavily marked Magpies.  But, I am no expert.

I believe Magpies, like Anconas, were bred with Runners playing heavily in the mix.  I could be wrong about that, too.

Aren't I helpful this morning?  roll.png

I have 2 wonderful sons, 3 ducks (2 Anconas & 1 Buff), 4 laying hens, a Holland Lop bunny, and a big scaredy cat.  I am a Chef, Baker, Bluegrass "Musician" (I know, you can't do both) and artisan.

I am guessing swedish.  But a possible mix!  They are so pretty.

I would guess swedish as well. The swedish ducklings I've hatched and raised look very similar to that. It's hard to tell in pictures, but you say he's not as dark as your other blue swedish. I would say he's a splash swedish, which means when feathered, he will be a lighter blue color. Very pretty smile.png

I did notice that he doesn't have the typical spotted feet. Most of the blue swedish ducklings I've had have some white on their feet.

My guess is badly marked magpie.  Send more photos when he is 8 weeks old.

He's looking more and more silver splash swedish. He's not supposed to be a cross as he came from a pretty big hatchery with all the breeds kept well apart from each other.

And at the time the photos were taken, the band was barely hanging on his foot it was so loose, and it has since been removed anyway :)
