Aww, thanks wholewheatchicken.  I like how you said, "having a good start to your hatch"!  That's thinking positively and I need lots of re-assurance.  (I'm a bit of a realist -and sometimes a downright pessimist!)  Yep-I love the encouragement and wisdom I get from my BYC friends.  It seems like you all relate better than some of my FB friends and even family! wink.png

wholewheatchicken, how is your pip doing?  Is it starting to zip yet?  Are there any other pips?

Do you think we'll be able to get any sleep tonight? th.gifI feel like this little smiley.   Watching eggs and waiting on them to hatch takes ALOT out of you!  Anyone relate or is it just me?

I feel the same way too:  just flat tired, but don't want to miss any action.  I am determined to see my little baby hatch out.  I too am a little bit of a "realist".  I think it's just my way of preparing for the worst so the dissapointment doesn't hit so hard.

I too think BYC is a great place to be because of the understanding and knoweledge.  Tonight I ran into a friend at the grocery store and I tried to tell them I had to hurry because I had baby chicks getting ready to hatch in the incubator and I could tell that rated a big, fat ZERO on their brain.  Uhhhhhh????  Come on.  I think this is kind of like the excitment of having a human baby.

My one baby is still working on cracking that shell.  It's doing a great job.  I can only imagine how hard that would be to be on the inside and having to work your head to get your beak lined up to crack open the egg.  Wow!

I see you homeschool.  Do you do traditional or charter?  I school my two children at home.  It is a virtual school and we do pilot programs with teachers and classes online and I teach the few subjects that are left.  It's our second year and I love being able to spend so much time with the kids and help them learn everyday.

One down! 23 to go! 3 pips but one has just been a pip all day - so frustrating.

Hi!!!!  Cute baby.  Wow, 23....that will be a lot of fun.  What breed are they?  I have 16 in, but only one pip.  It has been like that most of the day too.  But once it woke up a little bit ago, it started doing some serious work.  I think it is working really hard and then taking little naps in between.  I'm not doing anything but sitting here talking on the phone, typing on the computer and surfing the Web and I am so tired.  All I can think at this point is coffee...no, cereal....coffee....no, cereal.  Kind of defeats the purpose of a salad for dinner LOL

clearly off topic but has anyone seen the emu page? If the big guy in the cam would move it'd be really cool, still is with him there though.

"I want to live to the end of my life"... Ya think so???

Not I, but where is the emu page.  Anything for some tangible excitement at this point would be great.  I'm about to be a baby hatching killer by going to bed sickbyc.gif

Thanks! We got 15 welsummer/maran mixups and 9 blue silkies we bought at the Stockton show and put in the bator that night (junked 3 of each previously). I'm all hopped up on coca cola so I should last a little while yet. I think its time to kick moderation to the curb and pour yourself a bowl of cereal.

Okay...it's official.  I will never tell you what my wishes are again.  Before I read your reply, I had gone in and gotten a bowl of cereal.  If one of the kids' Ding Dongs starts calling my name about 4:00, I'm keeping it to myself.

I'm off to the emu site.
