Are you preparing for not-so-good-times ahead - Page 9

Well I bought my first vodka and wine.Friend says I should get a variety of things for infection, warming, and such.

I don't know if what I am buying is expensive. I think the vodka was $3.69 for 750ml. I may splurge though and get some Egri bikaver(aka bulls  blood) wine.Made in the town next to my grandma's village(in Hungary). I was always told it was a very good red wine with health benefits.

Dh is going to come home and see this alcohol and give me quite the look!

We just picked up a wine making kit...let's see if we can do this ourselves.

My mixed up flock of Barred Rocks, Red hens, Brown Leghorns, Speckled Sussex,  EEs, BLRW, Buff Orps, Wellies and Delawares Marans and Ameracaunnas, lone Sebright roo  and a Muscovy quad.

In quarantine a quintuplet of barred rocks (hopefully hens)

In the brooders:  Pekin ducklings, New Hampshire Reds, Buff Orps, Iowa Blue.

I am growing hops this year. My son likes to home brew and I want to see if we can grow hops that would be suitable for a decent beer.

You should be able to grow good hops there. The climate is similar to Germany's.

In a world filled with not-so-good-times ahead, "tomatoes" would make great barter.

If it is legal, why can't you say it?

How do you smoke those medicinal "tomatoes"? smile.png

Your flock eats those "tomatoes' they'll probably end up roosting like bats.gig.gif

It's better to learn to live the austere lifestyle under your own terms, than under the gun of some military junta.

But did you keep the bottles for making a building, or breaking them and mortaring them into the top of your perimeter wall?

You can build a green house out of empty bottles. Don't know how many you need but you won't be sober for months, for sure!
