correct.. don´t worry about silkie feathering just know.. once you get back to silkie(using your first cross roos over other black silkie hens) you will get more silkie traits..

just to make sure I understand...barred cochin hen/black silkie roo...all chicks will be barred or all male chicks will be barred?

correct..

 

a Barred hen x Black roo... just Boys will be barred and the hens will be black. not only that, you will be able to sex them at hatch.. boys will have clear skin and girls will have black skin..

 

a Barred rooster x Black hen.. all of them will be Barred and none will have black skin..

ok I understand that thumbsup.gif.  that is very cool.  now, I keep a roo?  do I breed it to a barred cochin, or a silkie? Do all the black feathered,black skinned girls have zero barring genes?
