The green ones are thick shelled and hard to see. I also have three chicken eggs light brown that are extra tiny about the size of a ping pong ball. Im hoping for lil tiny babies. Pygmy chickies maybe lol

Awwww I hope you do get pygmy chickies they would be extremely cute jumpy.gif

Interesting.Would like more info on how you made it and how it works out.I have a dehydrator sitting here collecting dust.

You have "set" them to hatch, in an incubator, under a broody hen, etc.

Deb

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

have 1 rooster (RIR) and 6 hens.(RIR) mix

I have an excaliber 9 tray dehydrator

I took all but one of the trays out. put a plate of water in the bottom.

I cut a shoe box in half lenght ways to make a top and bottom.

Placed the eggs in there along with the temp gague

My dehydrator has temp setting that I do not trust.

So I took my electronic weather sensor and put it in there to get an accurate reading on the temp.

I may have it wing it on the humidity.

Do you keep low humidity for the 1st 18 days just like for chicks ?  I am just curious. Several years ago ( I knew nothing about hatching anything) I put chicken eggs and duck eggs in my incubator. The chicks hatched fine but the ducks only pipped then died. After reading and reading on BYC I am only guessing maybe my humidity was too high. Thanks for any info and wishing you good luck with your hatch :)
