I set 42 eggs on Friday Feb 24th in my Little Giant Incubator. I have a good mix of breeds (Standard and Bantam) including Lavender Orps! I got them through Ebay.....small fortune! I've had a great hatch rate with Ebay shipped eggs before and this is my 3rd hatch. I keep some and sell the rest. I've gotten pretty good at sexing the chicks.

Trying something different this time to increase hatch rate....using an egg turner and bought a circulated air fan kit. I'm enjoying not having to manually turn the eggs! I candled a couple last night and saw little heart beats...precious! So far so good! I'll keep you posted!

Good Luck to everyone  jumpy.gif

A wonderful husband, 8 laying hens (2 Gold Comets, 2 Barred Rocks, 2 EEs, 1 Black Sex Link, & 1 Lavender Orp), 2 sassy cats and 1 salt water reef tank including 2 nemos!

27 new hatchlings...it was my best hatch ever

Could I join? I'm going to be setting 12 eggs tomorrow. Just going to be a good barnyard mix from my own hens. I tried doing a batch before but the power went out during lockdown and the temp dropped too far and killed all the eggs. he.gif 20 days waiting for nothing. Hoping this hatch goes much better fl.gif

It is hard to see in them but usually by day four you can see the red veining :)  You have to look REAL close and have a good LED light. I candled them today....12 look good, I see VEINS :) 4 I'm not sure about yet.
