ANYONE HAVE EGGS DUE!! CHARTS ON PAGE ONE POST ONE!! NEWCOMERS WELCOME!!! - Page 53

Twenty-four hours after you set them is day one.

Think of it like a baby, at the end of their first year, they are one.

Deb

The difference between breakfast and chicks, is the temperature you use to "cook" the eggs!

What breeds do I have?  More than any sane person would own.

Good luck to everyone going in lockdown! And congrats to those with chicks! I candled my friend's eggs I'm hatching for her today. The first set is at 8 days and I had to toss 1 that was clear and one looks like a quitter but I'm gonna wait a bit to make sure. Those are down to 16. The second set of 15 all look good at 4 days. She will be happy big_smile.png.

Now for my eggs! My first set are on day 12 and all are moving and looking good of the 16. The second batch was swap eggs of EE/OE and 14 are definitely good at 5 days the other three I'm not sure as they are dark!! I think one is clear but waiting. I tossed a quitter coturnix egg so I'm left with 12 that are moving and doing good! I'm only a few days from lockdown for them YAY! This is day two on my six Indian Runner chocolate ducks and can't wait till I can candle them and see veins!!! droolin.gif

Thanks for the pics and calendar.  this is my first time hatching so it's very useful!  We should start hatching on Monday but the chickens are doing most of the work. :)

Do you have a special place that you candle yours in to see them better?  Or do you do it in the evening when it is dark out?

I love the sound of a roosters crow, the clucking of hens as they scratch away and watching them run around playing. There is nothing more pleasant or soothing then that.

Black Japanese Bantams, Buff Orpingtons, Ameraucanas, Rabbits and Goats.  Two dogs, four cats and one Mom and two daughters.

All my eggs turned out to be duds.

I did get some new eggs from a farmer friend of mine and those are under her now. So I guess we are on reset with her.

My life is a wonderful zoo! 1 Jack Russel TONY, 1 Rat Terrier BRIDGET, 1 Porcelain D'uccle (Victor), 2 Easter eggers (Clara and Loraine), 2 evil barred rocks and 2 two month old Speckled Sussex hens (Kate and Pippa).
