Beekissed...I think you made a fairly reasoned, non-hysterical arguement and I agree with the part that the decision was based on political correctness and he did it because he felt he had to and because he could.  I may also agree with you that it may be best to solidify the rules regarding flying the flag at half staff in order to avoid these kinds of National arguments in the future.  Regarding the rest of your argument I will give you a quote from Albert Einstein whom you seem to like.  He said "Nationalism is an infantile disease.  It is the measles of mankind."  I will also tell you that when he died he was a resident of New Jersey living at Princeton University, and the flags were not flown at half staff.

Fighting at home to preserve the honor and integrity of the flag is the least that someone like me who has not served his country can do especially for those that did in fact die for it.

Thank you for your service, chickened.  Bickering about Whitney Houston on a chicken forum is fighting the good fight.  I only hope more patriots follow suit.

Well.. Christie could have done worse things to our vets and active duty like maybe throwing our soldiers under the bus for urinating on the enemy or mistakenly burning some books or bowing and apologising for no reason to curry acceptance.

Well Capvin, I think I have every right to say this discussion has gone off the rails...seeing as I am the original poster.

I am not talking about my standards....just I guess not your standards.  I do not understand why some people have to keep arguing their point to everyone who disagrees with them.
