Hi all I thought he was a Cochin since he has feathered feet but now he's growing little sideburns sorta so not sure if he's a mix or what? He was a mystery egg I hatched about six weeks ago...

Thanks if anyone has a guess smile.png

Its definitely a silkie mix (they're known for black skin).  More pictures of it's body (sideshots) would be helpful.  Is it's legs really heavily feathered or only lightly feathered?  If it's really heavy feathering, I would suspect that a D'uccle was one of the parents.  If the feathering is really light and sparse, I would suspect one of the parents was bare-legged (EE as ramirezframing suggested).

He does have very feathered legs and feet! As you can see in the photo but he only has 4 toes so I didn't consider a silkie mix but they are black for sure....

not all silkie crosses will have a 5th toe and most don't come with a striaght comb. But I have an auarcana and silkie mix that looks like yours, just a different color

What a lovely roo!  I just love how mixes can turn out...

One big messy, noisy flock...   Roughly 15 older members, 8 EE babies, 10 Cuckoo marans ( 10+ FBCM coming in April), 20 +  Alohas.  Yikes!  Chicken math strikes again ;)

Thanks to all for the responses and comments! smile.png we think he is just adorable too! We hatched 8 of 10 eggs from a mixture and this little guy is turning out to be very unique with his gold colored feathers... The other 7 are black, white and gray so he has been the most interesting to see develop smile.png
