Pics
Going to update these pictures as the birds mature, but I've crossed a Lemon Cuckoo Niederrheiner (based on appearance) over Buff Orpington hens (hatchery quality from Hoover's) for this result:

The result is attractive to me, and so far at least the boys have the seeming "heaviness" of their father. The girls seem to have less barring to none except in the neck, and just come across as paler, fuzzier buffs. To that point, they are so pale compared to a newly molted Buff Orpington, I'm not sure the term "buff" could be fairly used here. They are EXTREMELY fluffy compared to their Buff Orpington mothers at the same age, and I'd be happy if I got fluffier birds overall!

The father could also be a lemon cuckoo orpington

He could be; he's also losing some color with age. Here he is much younger:

Hello. I know this is a very old thread, however, I just finished going through the entire thread and wanted to share my experience with the mix I did this summer. I had a Light Brahma roo and my ladies are RIR, Black Jersey giant, Sapphire Gem, EE, Barred Rock and a Light Brahma Hens.

It seems with the RIR and EE all the babies pretty much look the same save the modified pea come on the RIR..

RIR before I sold it 20230412_073855.jpg

I had many more but sold them young. All basically black or gray on white. Not sure how they will look grown.

It appears my Shappire Gems all look like mom with some white leakage, which I didn't expect and it looks like she threw all girls lol lucky me as there is no barring. She the one in the front. The Black Jersey Giants all appear black with White leakage on chest and head.. she is in the middle. And the barred mix looks like a barred male.. if I got any barred females they were sold at days old and I do not know what they look like now but were solid black as chick's.
The Saphire gem, Jersey giant and Barred rock Cockrell are the only three I kept from my first hatch. I do have a RIR cross still young that I kept from my 4th hatch tho it's very young. Am hoping for a pulled but males and females look alike so I will wait and see and get more pictures as each grow.

My Jersey Giant x RIR cross is only 12 weeks. I have a pullet and a roo, the third was killed by a dog. One of the pullets and the roo had the RIR feet and eyes, the RIR fast development. Both were born with vestigial tail feathers and were flying by 1 week. That is the pullet the dog ate. The cockerel had a red comb by 4 weeks. He is very protective, like his father, and is already showing some amazing color. My sister thought he was bleeding...

The other pullet has the JG eyes and feet, and is growing more slowly.

My Bielefelder x Black Australorp and Biel x Jersey Giant crosses are only six weeks old.

I'll post pictures when they're adults.
