Tractor Supply Chicks - Page 8

I was in our local TS in Pocono mountains PA and they said they would be in today 2/27 or tomorrow. They are waiting for the post office to call. They already had the signs over the brooders for the breeds they would have in them.

As most of you know. Once they get birds in, they go QUICK!!!! I was talking to a lady who works only in the evening, and she said she has never seen a chick. Becasue they always sell out before the evening.

I went in to see what they had today. They had straight run Speckled Sussex chicks (Breed of the week). Some meat birds and ducks. They were expecting some pullets and bantams.

Stopped by TSC on my way home awhile ago - and they had gotten in three boxes of chicks - black australorp (straight run), RIR (pullets) and black sex-link pullets.  I would've taken a couple of the black sex link pullets - but they had a 6-chick minimum.  So I will wait until tomorrow or Wednesday and see if they get any others in.  I'd love speckled sussex, barred rock and easter eggers.

I called my local TSC today, still no chicks.

I'm looking to swap Coturnix eggs for turkey eggs.

Yes, it varies.  They'll almost always have some common "standard stock" type breeds, but with other breeds, such Barred Rocks, Red Sex Links etc, but it will vary by week and some breeds will be special order only.  Often, the store manager doesn't even know what they'll get until they open the hatchery shipping boxes.

Ours got their first shipment in today.  The chick guy told me that they will have 15 varieties in the store this year, and other 5 that they can special order in at the discounted price.  They aren't requiring that you purchase a minimum this year at our store, but I'm hoping to get about 20 from the store, and another 6 or so from some folks on here.  I'm so excited.  Our Ace Feed Store got their chicks in earlier this week too, and I got two from them already.
