Hello from Port Townsend Washington!

Thread Starter

I've been a member for a little while now so I finally decided it's time to introduce myself. Here's all about me...

(1)  Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I got my first batch of babies last September, the Rainbow Layers from Murray McMurray. 25 precious little

      fuzzy wuzzies.

(2)  How many chickens do you have right now?

I shared some of the hens from that batch so I now have 14 chickens BUT 5 of the "layers" turned out to be

roos so I have those and 9 hens. I'm going to be looking to re-home 3 of the roos, even though I love them all

to death, I just don't have the space for that many boys. idunno.gif

(3)  What breeds do you have?

6 EE (2 roos), 1 SS roo, 1 GLW roo, 2 LB (1 roo. His name is Tweedle Zilla), 1 Ancona, 2 BCM, 1 Spanish White Face.

(4)  How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I found a link on the My Snazzy Chicken Coop website.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

     There are other hobbies?

(6)  Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I am a 62 year old married mother of 4 daughters, grandmother of 6 (3 of each). My husband still works and I am a retired

     loan officer.

We have one daughter and grandson living with us (because of her health situation). She wanted to get a few backyard

chickens just for fun and a few eggs. My DH said go ahead but he didn't want anything to do with any of it. cool.png Now we

have a big, beautiful chicken house he built for us and if we don't beat him to it in the morning he lets the chickens out

for us and talks to them as much as we do!  love.gif

Here are a couple of our boys, Bill Jr. and Hoot.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
