This little one is almost 11 weeks.  Mama is a white silkie, daddy is a gorgeous partridge. Can anyone tell gender yet?

Silkies are SO hard to sex. I'm guessing roo. That wide, prominent comb and slicked back do make me think boy. My silkie girls combs were almost non-existent at that age, and was mostly covered by their round, fluffy crests. I'm definitely no expert though. Its cute, whatever it is big_smile.png

Silkies, the comb is known as a mulberry or cushion and is almost circular in shape but , wider than longer.  A male has a slighty spiky crest while the female's  should be short and neat like a powder puff.

That streamer like tail is screaming roo too me. It it seems to have a pretty visible comb.

But its always hard to sex silkies because they can change over time and sometimes their are some really boyish looking pullets and some girlish looking cockerals.

Quality (like where the stock came from) also has alot to do with it.
