I'm thinking partridge with some silver leakage in his hackles.

Twin Oaks Ranch Silkies     I can't believe those little Silkies grabbed my heart!  
I have a wonderful DH who's a silkie enabler!

He's a grey with autosomal red.  Partridge have gold, not silver hackles.

Breeder & Exhibitor of fine silkies in Black, Blue, Splash, Grey, Partridge & Lavender.  Working on Dun, Mottled, Partridge dilutions, Paint, Porcelain & other exciting new colours
adult and started pairs occasionally available;
   No eggs or chicks.

so what color hen should I cross him with or should I breed him at all?

What are your goals?  The answer depends on them.
