I think Pidgin has chicken PTSD. she will come up for attention and food then suddenly run away, she used to be so cuddly. i have her and my other buff brahma hen BB (the cuddliest hen ever) together. they are my favorites and are kept locked in the chicken tractor because i dont want a coyote to eat them... that and its cherry season... last year pidgin went off and lived in the cherry orchard alone all summer eating cherries and then disappeared and reappeared with a brood. i care too much to lose them, so the lose their freedom, but i need to have one chicken to cuddle with to make all my other chicken efforts worth it... no one else likes cuddles....
Pidgin has healed well.... but she has only one black tail feather grown back.... leg feathering has returned, so her scales didn't melt as bad.
