Hello from Oregon

Hello all,

We are in the Mid-Willamette Valley, here in Oregon. A place of moderate temperatures, sunny skies(well, for at least three months out of the year-and maybe more! wink.png), and friendly people and animals. Here we live with dogs(Poms and Catahoulas), cats(the mousing variety), goats, sheep, a couple llamas and chickens. The chickens are the newest addition to our menagerie and thinking about it, they have been here for two years now. We have an small flock of 7 hens....an ameraucana, a couple opringtons, a couple wyandottes and a bantam australorp and brahma. The chickens have been a welcome addition to our critters and we think that it is time to start a new generation to continue producing eggs.

I work outside the home, but I play with fiber when I have a chance. Spinning yarn, knitting, and felting. I really enjoy it! I also have been slowly working on gardening spaces around the place. My husband works in transportation, but spends his time around here being a jack-of-all-trades(or at least as many as we seem to need). The child has turned into a lovely teenager(can those two words be used in the same sentence?), who helps when told to(yes, told to-she is after all a teenager). I am looking forward to looking around this community. I hope to be able to hatch our next generation of chickens here, rather than buy them at the feed store.

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
