My Lets see ......
 

My four week olds - 2 Buff Orpington pullets, 2 Barred Rock pullets, 2 Americana or EE pullets, and the extra pick ups for that week 2 Cuckoo Marans

 

My Three week olds - 2 Buttercup pullets, 1 Buttercup cockerel, 1 Dorking cockerel, and the extra pick ups for that week 2 black sexlinks

 

My tomorrow pick up - 2 Partridge Rock pullets, 2 Australorp pullets, 2 Light Brahma pullets, extra pick ups tomorrow ????

 

Next week - 2 Golden Laced Wyandotte pullets, extra pick ups next week?????

 

So today I have 14 in the brooder ... tomorrow will have a minimum of 20 .... next week a minimum of 22 .... when it's all done duc.gif

This is such a fun thread! @ Tony: it would be SUCH a pity not to add a few more orpies! What have you got to loose? lol! @ gg706: Oooh I have 3 lav orps LOVE love love them! I think the BLRW are gorgeous... how are their temperments? Unfortunately my limit is 15 hens... and I am already booked to that limit *sniffle*  Soooo jealous of Tony!!

@peaches   My chicks are only 2 weeks old, so I am not sure about temperament yet.   Some seem pretty friendly with people and eat out of my hand and perch on my finger.  Others are VERY adamant about NOT being touched and voice their opinion about it!!  I feel like the ones that are friendly and curious will probably stay that way and the ones who aren't I don't bother much with them. I am not keeping all of them..so the UNfriendlys will go.  I dont see much point in trying to force them to socialize with us...I just let them do what is natural and the "keepers" will become apparent.  They have really come around alot in the last 3 or 4 days so by next week they ALL might be KEEPERS! I guess it is the "nature of the beast".....Right TS???  idunno.gif

That sounds like a good plan. I found a lady in my area who breeds really nice heritage BLRW..... really want one!  Do you know if TS got any more orpies?

Actually, they know me by all the pine chips, PDZ, waterers, feeders, chicken magazines, brooder bulbs, and hanging out where the chicks and ducks are .... I haven't bought a bird from them ...... yet. big_smile.png

Today I get my 6 from the local feed store and I plan on taking a detour through Alden and "just to look " at the BOs they have wink.png

"JUST TO LOOK"   That isn't going to happen....I am going to bet you bring home 3 Buff Orpingtons. celebrate.gif   I love Orpingtons. They are Gorgeous...you won't be able to resist!  Have you ever seen Jubilee Orpingtons? I have already thought about getting more Orpingtons.  You don't stand a chance!!!  The only hope for you is if they run out of them before you get there!  Let us know what happens!

rant.gifSo I didn't receive a call from the local feed store about my order yet ... I just called them and they told me the order was cancelled somad.gif

 

Andrew is so disappointed as the 2 he picked out were in that order ... I guess they are getting Australorps next week, so I will get them when I pick up the Golden Laced Wyandottes ... so disappointed sad.png

 

I really hate spreading the chicks out like this .... now I will have 3 day olds and 5 week old birds ... gotta try and figure this out ... hu.gif
