We are pretty sure this is a roo, this picture is at 7.5 weeks.  I think it has already crowed.. or is trying anyways.  Since we are not allowed to have roos in our area, we will have to give it to a new home.  Though I have already become attached to the little stinker.  So before I actually give him away, I think I needed some reassurance that it is indeed a roo.  It isn't aggressive, though is quite curious about what is going on around it.  It eats quite a lot.  From all of the local breeders we have got conflicting speculation.  It's a dominant hen to its a roo.  After researching on BYC it would be our safe assumption it is a roo, as most pictures posted (of 7-8 week chicks) do not have even close to the same defined comb and waddle.

Thanks y'all!

That's pretty well developed comb and wattles at just over 7 weeks.  That's pretty much a sure sign of a cockerel.  If he's already trying to crow, he'll likely master it soon!  big_smile.png

I'm sorry! :( It does look like a rooster. He's a cutie, though!
