Dark Brahma?

Thread Starter

My friend bought this roo and several other chickens from a gentleman that used to show and was selling off his stock.  She was told he was a Dark Brahma.  In trying to get hens to go with him, she noted that all the Dark Brahma pics are silver over black.  This gorgeous guy is goldtoned.  She and I have scoured pics and he seems to be Brahma other than his coloring.  Any help for her is greatly appreciated.

He doesn't look like a brahma to me.  Brahmas have pea combs,

Any clue as to what breed? I am a duck person and have almost no knowledge of chickens.

I'm sorry, I am not sure on this one.  I just happened to have Brahmas so I knew what to expect there.  Maybe someone else will have an idea on that.

He almost looks like he might have some dark brahma in him, and a lot of other breeds

Birchen Marans?

Hrm, what color is his legs?  If it's pink or white, I'd put all my money on Birchen Marans.  Not a very common find!
