I hope to have that same luck also. Tomorrow I''ll be glued to the bator. The waiting and the unknown is the hardest part.

I AGREE THAT WAITING IS THE WORST.  i know i had live chicks last time i candled before lockdown, i just wonder what has happened now.  i keep hearing so many horror stories of drowned chicks, deformed, stuck to the egg.  just so worried and they are JUST chickens.

i want to candle so badly i can't stand it!!

Once the other half hatched today and those 4 didn't do anything, I candled them and saw no movement at all. I carefully egg-topsied them and saw perfect little Blue Marans, just not alive anymore. hit.gif I have to take my mind off of that and concentrate on the 21 little happy dudes and dudettes I do have. The last 2 to hatch are still in the bator, but 19 are down in my brooder trough....here is a pic with some of them earlier today and their new friend. I'm in love again...love.gif

I had only 7 out of 25 hatch that made it to lockedown. I believe I got the problem figured out (too low humidity for entire incubation). Out of the 18 that did not hatch all 18 were fully formed but they did not pip! Not even internally. The ones that did hatch were weak and two of them died. This time I kept the humidity higher and at day 14, 20 out of the 20 set were moving and developing perfectly.

Lockdown tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's great! I hope this hatch is wonderful for you!!!

I love it when they fall asleep. We call them pancake chicks because they sleep so hard they flatten out where they lay. Sooooo cute! smile.png
