Hens sitting...how long to hatch?

Thread Starter

Hi Everyone. I'm a new chicken lover. = ) My girls have been sitting for at least 23 days. I gave some fertilized eggs to a friend and as of yesterday/today she has babies. I've got nothing! Does it take longer "au natural" vs. incubator? How long should I leave the hens on the eggs? Thanks everyone!

I'm also wondering if they are even able to hatch as it's not warm here. The girls are in a coop with a light but it's still cool in there.

welcome-byc.gifI would leave them at least 2-4 more days. I know its long, but I have had them hatch on day 26!
