idunno.gif A tether, probably?

I have five hens and two pullets- one seven year old red star, Luna, one white leghorn, Sage, one SLW, Pepper, one adorable fluffy EE, Bedazzle, and one black star, Buckbeak. My two pullets are Nutella, my wheaten marans, thirty five weeks, (who is yet to lay an egg!), and her best friend, Sammy, seventeen weeks.

That's a gaff...in cockfighting, they trim off the spurs and attach metal blades (removable) to their legs.

Yeah, that's just a tether in the picture.  A lot of times gamefowl roosters are kept tethered because they have the tendency to fight each other if they're together, so that keeps the roosters separate from each other.

Sorry, it's just a tether.

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

In cockfighting, the roosters are kept in a open area, tethered to a small house the tether is so that they don't fight the roo who lives next to them

I currently have five chickens, a bantam partridge wyandotte, buckeye, Goldlaced wyandotte, Delaware, and a buff orpington cross. My banty recently hatched 3 chicks a whos moms were a rsl, bo, and a aruacana and all share the same father a cuckoo maran. And 26 broiler chicks.

My friend also has to teather her roos because even though they arnt an aggressive breed she wants to keep them in peak condition for showing. If they were all loose together they would be torn up just in time for shows... So its not just fighting birds that are tethered. Its also handy to keep roos that like to roam nicely in their yards. Neighbors appreciate that.yippiechickie.gif

Oh, haha.  I didn't see the green rope at first...blends into the grass.  Teaches me to look more carefully!  I thought it looked too large.
