Setting eggs anyone want to join?

I too have well water and never think about it. It just tastes so fresh and so good. My poor daughter has to use bottled water for everything. I've really been giving this thread a lot of thought and still have no conclusive answers. I remember my grandmother's softened water feeling slimy to me. I'm not saying it was, it just was so different from the well water I've grown so accustomed to.
Oooh, well water! I used to drink well water when I was a child living in VA. I can almost taste it now..love it!

I am in lock down. I am setting up my brood box. can you tell me what temp. I should hold the box at? No pips yet. This is silly, I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas.

Just got on to see this..congrats! You aren't silly, I've hatched for years, still have fun with it!

The brood box is something I've never kept a temp on. I just use the bins, not sure what you're using, or how big. If it is in doors, my guess a light bulb..around a 75 watt should do the trick. They will stay where it's warm. If they huddle, you know that isn't warm enough, use a larger bulb. If they lay spread out a bit, and aren't panting, you are just right. That's how I do it. I usually use a larger bulb at first when they are still a bit damp, then a smaller bulb when they dry off. It's real easy to see if they are comfortable.
If you are really wanting temps for it..you can go to the hatching site and ask there..some people go with temp, thermometers and all.

Have fun! Now you need to post pictures!

Fresh water, starter feed.... any other concerns for my brood box? I have the temp. issue under control.

What do you use for bedding? I use the shavings..the pine shavings, not the cedar, as you probably know, not good for them.
Just have your camera ready! Will be watching for pictures!
Here's what I hatched yesterday, Silkies, and I hatched some pure Ameraucanas day before.

These are the ameraucanas
Puffy little faces!
Oh, and I had some Cochins in with my Ameraucanas..fuzzy feet.
