Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!! - Page 125

I havn't seen any rocking ever on an egg except after pip.  (sigh)

Here is todays pic, I have the egg upright for the photo.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Are yours in a turner? My turkeys rocked for over a week, my ducks usually start it up on day 21. Maybe the one's I incubate are just jerks and like rocking because it makes me more impatient.

Weird, Marty.... I'm with Julie.  I usually start seeing rocking about a week before hatch.  When you candle the egg horizontally, do you see shadows like in the pic I showed you before?

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

No, not the goose eggs.  Even in all this time hatching ducks (which are in turners) i've never seen one rock.  Maybe they just don't like me.  rant.gif

No shadows that I can see.  Nada.  When I hold the egg, I sorta feel some of them moving a bit.  Now, to be fair, I never stand and stare at them.  They probobly just wait until I turn my back.  I knows it and others are alive, for I can still see veins at the pointy end, and occasional motion, but like I said, I don't just wait around.

Darn it Darn it Darn it!  Cooperate, eggs!  Agh!  hit.gif

Well, there's your problem. I'll catch one moving out of the corner of my eye when I'm turning them (no turner, so takes me awhile). Then I sit there and stare at them until I see a few more wobbles so I know I'm not seeing things, lol.

I've only got 6 (oh, 5 now) goose eggs, and 6 muscovies I'm hand turning.  I'm done in under a minute. 3x daily.  I just hope they get here.  I'll be so bummed if they died on me yesterday when the bator was off a few hours.

Update! Ok, so I had to moisten the baby againand now he's opening and closing his mouth. The yolk still hasn't fully absorbed and he is also moving around and pushing against the shell.
I love my animals, they are my life and I couldn't imagine it without them!

If someone says, "Don't do that! You wasn't raised in a barn!" I can honestly say, "I was too raised in a barn!"

Do you think my baby isn't going to hatch?  I mean, it is my first goose egg, but what could I have done wrong here?

I've had broodies get off the nest for hours, or sit on the wrong one overnight even, and they've all hatched 100% under them from non shipped eggs. I don't think the 4 hours killed them, just maybe set them back a little.
