Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!! - Page 150

Okay here's problem goosey scenario:

Noticed she wasn't internally pipping.  I saw her moving but only in the bottom of the dip.. Thought to myself.. "hmmmm... I have a bad feeling about this one."  I made a hole and saw that she had NOT internally pipped, worked my way down the side of her shell looking for her beak and have finally found it.  Here is a pic.  I did the best I could trying to follow her anatomy to find her head and not compromise the shell.  

She was completely upside down.  The movement I saw was her foot pushing on the air cell.  She is covered in a thick goo like substance. Here's a pic of that. 

What is that stuff?  It's a thick fluid.  The last goose I hatched looked like this and it ended badly.  

This is day 28 and right now she is doing some labored breathing.. but she did honk at me when I found her beak.  

Thoughts?

Mohillbilly, QJ's goose is upside down.  Those babies often need to be internally pipped to hatch.  I am diving into my 5 cayuga eggs at start of day 26. I guarantee you if I did not touch them, they would all be dead in the morning.  Now they have a shot, even if slim for a couple of them.

Everyone but Jerry's are saying out for delivery!!!!  So Marty, Goosed, Iain, Celtic.....Please keep me posted on how the eggs are.. 

Jerry how close are you Kansas City KS,  is that close to MO?? 

Erin.. from KC all mail travels to Chilicothe then over to our small town, Quite normal for things to take an extra day to get here.

WOW!!! I got my delivery about 20 minutes ago! 

I took pics of the boxes before opening, and then pics with top stuffing removed to show packaging.  Will post later after unwrapping and candling.  But all were very well done. 

What I did not expect was my sweet buff dewlap egg lady sent me 6 greys and 4 buffs when I only paid for 4 greys!!  Also got a bonus egg from the other grey dewlap seller... So total eggs received today: 17!!

Update on my egg... the baby that I couldn't find the beak.... based on the pics and talking to Celtic on phone, we figured it out.  I was able to wedge a qtip under his neck and pull head out.  Darn thing is still holding on.

After these guys get a brief rest, I will be going back to wrap the yolk up on my wrong end baby per Celtic's directions.  Will post pic of that when done.

All 5 opened up... all 5 in various stages of hanging on.
