Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!! - Page 173

It is day 29.  I set them around 6:00pm eastern on March 14th.  I will have to take a picture when I get home but the one was almost all the way around this morning and the other one had just a small external pip when I left the house.

How long should it take for the polyvisol to work?  I've been giving it to my crooked necked duckling for probably about 5 days now and haven't seen any improvement.  Am I not giving enough do you think?  Does it sometimes just not work?

QJ, the longer cooling should show improvements for you. I have to do longer and more often cooling just to stay on track because of the humidity here. Are these eggs from Lisa?

I have a digital thermometer that doesn't have a decimal point but does measure humidity and the majority of the time it read 99 with sometimes 100 temp and between 45 and 56 for humidity.  It is a hovabater forced air.  I was hand turning the eggs around 7:00am and 7:00pm everyday and spraying them with a spray bottle at 7:00pm.  Around day 26 - 27 when they start to dip and I can see movement in the lower end, I move them to another hovabater forced air to hatch.  That one is between 97 to 98 with humidity around 55 - 60. 

So far I have hatched if I include these two 17 little pains in the butt out of 21 that were fertile which is 80% success.  The majority of mine have either hatched on the 28th or 29th day.  I have 11 more that will be hatching in the next two weeks.  

If you know anyone in the Connecticut area that wants some geese, let me know because I went a little crazy hatching this year.
