Here are the Buff Dewlap new arrivals.  I didn't get home until late so I didn't get a picture last night.  The one right somehow got a piece of shell stuck on its back from the new hatch.  The one on the left came out of his shell in late last night/early this morning.

I candled my sebastopol eggs last night and all 6 of them have growth in them.  I am soooooooo excited!!!!!  celebrate.gif

So, out of curiosity, since there's nothing I could do anyway until my long workday is over and I have fought my way through Friday traffic (oh joy)...

1. What the range of time that's "normal" for it to take a gosling to unzip after pipping the egg shell? Up to 48 hrs? More?

2. What are some of the signs that something is wrong? (newbie, so I wouldn't necessarily recognize trouble/warning signs or whether all is progressing normally)

The two babies that pipped were minimum (don't know what time yesterday they pipped) 12 hrs along as of this morning before I left for work. They were still peeping, but neither had done more than peel back the soft inner layer of the shell so that there was a hole.

Figured I'd ask now, since there may not be anyone online when I get home tonight. smile.png

Should have a box of eggs to pick up today, except they aren't from Carole! She is proving to be unreliable with these eggs. She filled a private order before the eBay auction I won. 2. They will set a rhythm to their pipping/zipping. If they seem to fall off that pattern, then I would be keeping a close eye for problems,  Also they should zip in a counterclockwise direction.  If you see it zipping up towards tip of egg instead of rotating, I would be concerned.

Hey Iain, no need. It is what it is I won't reccomend her to anyone though as this is poor service. I understand geese not laying, but filling a private sale before an auction is not cool in my book. Then to not keep records on payments received and then. It shipping the eggs because she couldn't keep her records straight. I will get 4 eggs that I paid for, they will be very late being sent to me even though I paid as soon as she invoiced andi will hope I didn't toss money in the trash. Luckily it is an eBay purchase so I can leave feed back. Heck she could have called me, emailed me directly since she has all that through PayPal. She chose to send messages through eBay that I got hours after the fact. Frustrating.

Baby has a fever of 103, Motrin and Tylenol in him now. Fluids and in bed sleeping with the fever down some. Have a doctors apt so going to sp food and water rounds then get ready to head to our base to see his doctor.

Oh on a good note, 4/5 of my first Buff Pomeranian eggs from Kawonu are set for lock down. The next three eggs from him are all growing strong! Oh and the babies from yesterday's hurried hatch are doing great as well.
