vicki, excellent news!!!  Curious... how are your cayuga eggs doing?  You got them from pidgey, if I recall?

UPDATE:  Erin toulouse internally pipped late afternoon/early evening yesterday on its own!  Hallelujah! I expect it to externally pip sometime later today (on its own too!). wee.gif

All 3 buff dewlaps are working on the turn.  I have had one that has been frontrunner since day 1 and I see shadows in the back of that one.  Will weigh/candle them carefully in the morning (beginning of day 28).

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Today is the start of day 28 for one of my Pilgrims! More noticeable dipping today, shadows on the back side, and baby has been turned for a couple of days now. I stopped turning on day 25 because of this.

Iain, I still never heard from Carole either. Guess she doesn't want to sell me eggs lol. Hooray for your Erin egg and dewlaps!

Thats awsome Iain!  I signed iin just to come check on your eggies, and I'm so pleased they are working along and alone.  You desearve a sell hatch batch, and I hope you get them all with no trouble.

The goslings are doing great.  They've stopped flipping, and its so fun to watch them do baby goose stuff.  They just love my lap, especially when I put a soft flannel blankie of some sort on them.  They are little eating, drinking, pooping machines.  (yay!)

Celtic - our old barn hasn't had horse stall since the 40's, so we'll just be building custom areas that seperate varieties/breeds.  We want everyone to be happy at night.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

Hey guys! I haven't been on much, been busy, busy, busy! But I'm sad to say that the eggs I pulled and put in my bator weren't fertile. sad.png but I have gotten some duck eggs and now incubating those. Happy Hatching Everyone!!
I love my animals, they are my life and I couldn't imagine it without them!

If someone says, "Don't do that! You wasn't raised in a barn!" I can honestly say, "I was too raised in a barn!"

Would you like me to call Carole for you?? That really surprises me.

Iain, don't be too surprised.  When I was trying to buy dewlaps a few weeks ago, she just wouldn't return emails or calls.  I decided to not worry about it.  Then, when they were saling on ebay, I bought the one batch, and had to call her twice and e-mail via ebay 3 times before I got it worked out to get four.

I hope my eggs arrive today, I'll feel much better then.  I'm really happy shes been so great for you, though.  I just want to get my eggs and have a hands off hatch.  I think I may have been a little too over worried w/the goslings.  I wish I'd left them alone, and maybe gotten more (or none, but I'll never know).  I guess I'm just gonna have to decide how to handle it based on how it goes for you, but its sure looking promising.

Gosh, I sure hope little man is all better soon.  hugs.gif

Oh on a good note, 4/5 of my first Buff Pomeranian eggs from Kawonu are set for lock down. The next three eggs from him are all growing strong! Oh and the babies from yesterday's hurried hatch are doing great as well.

Thanks Marty!!  Happy to hear your goslings are doing well!  Do you love them more than ducklings yet?? (Although so far I am loving Molasses more than goslings).

Chikn, what kind of ducks?? FYI, I know a great utility toulouse seller, if you are interested. She is running super specials on ebay right now too.

Goosed, great news about your pilgrims!

Sorry you guys are having communication problems with Carole.  I have bought from her twice now (and Exner bought from her before me)... and we did not have these problems.  But I assure you, her eggs are very fertile and arrive with intact air cells... and seeing how few quality dewlap sellers there are in the states, she is worth the trouble, IMO.

I am happy to report that my erin toulouse baby is peeping away, breathing really strong, and now working on external pipping (all on its own!)!  Hm.. think the toulouse and Molasses will be friends???

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

Celtic, hope to get a positive report on your baby when you return from doctor's.  Glad to hear your goslings are doing great!  Mind posting a new pic of fluid baby (that's my name for it... and it's stuck now). I want to see how that very cool color looks now. big_smile.png

I think Molasses is gonna have to learn to love goslings!

My sister picked up my Ancona babies yesterday, plus a trio of CA white chicks, and a trio of indian runners.  It'll be fun to have babies I didn't have to hatch for awhile.

I've got my  muscoveys on lockdown, but they don't look too promising too me.  I hope I get some though.  I think Celtic has them too, doesn't she?  I wonder if I can get her to set some when she sets EE's and BCMs for me.  (or better, 2 weeks before setting them.)
