Fantastic save!!!!!  Dark shadows and lack of movement are sure signs of shrink wrap!!

My menagerie includes 5 horses, 3 dogs, 4 cats, 32 geese (dewlap toulouse & african) and 10 ducks (muscovy, ancona, cayuga & silver appleyard).

By the way, that is an EXCELLENT picture of what shrink wrap looks like!!  Did you get the nares freed??

Thank you! I had a good teacher wink.png

Yes, nares are free and baby is breathing! He (I think) is resting now. I'm sure he's exhausted after struggling to pip all night and day yesterday.

I tried not to make too big of a hole, but had to go up higher to get to the nares. I opened where I knew the baby wasn't right under because I didn't want to poke though and hit the baby or veins. I remember past instances of people being instructed to make a "small hole to see" and they ended up removing half the egg. I hate to learn from other's unfortunate mistakes....but this thread alone has taught me a lot!

And thank you! How often do I need to moisten the membrane? Is there anything else I need to plan on doing? The last baby had some shrink wrap, but she ex pipped and was able to finish on her own once I moistened the membrane and jacked the humidity. This baby is much more shrinky though.
