poor goose.. that is alot of work!

PSue sorry you lost your baby, a weak one is hard to begin with.

Celtic - I guess by early may we'll plan on grass and I'm trying to get our purina guy to get that MZ.... food you use.  Its not commen here yet.  If I can't get it, I'll PM you to inquire about your ideas on suitable substitutes.  You are much more thoughfull than many goose feed sights and ideas seem to be.  Most folks seem to choose "their brand" and offer it and whatever the birds can scrounge.  I think I'd like to do a little better for them than that.  I suppose what works for your babies will work for the other goslings that hopefully hatch here, once they are feathered out.  I currently use morman special blended feeds from a morman community not far from here.  They customize for the right percentages based on your animals and their stage of growth. They maybe an option if I can't get the other.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????

I just started my first hatch of dewlap Toulouse geese yesterday. I will be following along closely since I am a newby to geese. I have incubated chickens, ducks and turkeys now this. I am becoming an addict to incubation.

I'm sorry, Sue, but I agree 100% that it was good practice.

Serenity, congrats!!!!  Where did you get your eggs??  Are they grey or buff?

Wow, a day without posts???

How is everyone?  Did you close up the bators and toss the geese out into the fields or what?

Personally, I'm gonna be candling again soon.  Some egg (goose or duck) in a bator is smelling like the north end of a southbound skunk.

Yay!  I guess I'm halfway through now my current goose hatch!  I've got still in the running 2 giant toulouse (probobly grey) from Erin,  7 buff giant toulouse dewlap (!!!) and 2 grey giant toulouse dewlap. Remember the six eggs a lady I bought eggs from accidentlally shipped me the day after shipping my order?(Ians friend Carolle?)  Well, I ordered 4 buffs, and she sent an extra. The next day she shipped me (accidentally) 4 more buffs and 2 greys! LOL So I've got 11 goose eggs halfway there, and I'm as happy as a fat rat in a cheese factory.  Oh, and I'm getting this weeks sebbie eggs from a lady here that Celtic got eggs from.  I got myself on the end of the list a week or two ago, and she's still laying, so 3 more sebbies maybe!

Tomorrow will be day 25 on mine. Starting to get more and more nervous the closer I get. I haven't had any problems incubating geese, but haven't had any hatch yet so I hope this guy(GIRL) doesn't have any problems.
