Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!! - Page 313

They went through California sorting facility yesterday afternoon, but the tracking is not showing up at Salt Lake local sorting office yet.  I am up before 7am, in case Salt Lake forget to scan it and they are here.  If they did not arrive late last night, then they will be sitting at the Salt Lake office today.... in which case, I'll be trying to get them from the sorting facility because it is only 40 minutes from my house.

70 is actually on the warm side here.  We had snow flurries last weekend and highs only in the low 50s until yesterday.  Pretty sure Carole is sitting around mid-70s for highs too.
 

My buff babies are not at my local post office.

Love my local post office lady!!  She found out they were dispatched to Cali airport at 9pm last night and thinks they will show up on tracking in my local sort office today.  She told me to call her as soon as it shows up and she will try to personally pull strings so I can get them today from the sort facility.

Wow.... been on the phone with my USPS airport receiving office.  LOVE THEM!!  They gave me a crash course on all flight times that would possibly have birds.  They made sure they did not arrive already.  The morning lady who personally picks up the birds from airport, is going over to airport to check latest flight just in case and took my cell #... and the main afternoon/night guy also took my cell # to call me if they arrive on any later flights tonight!

I could tell these people cared a great deal about their live shipments.  Hopefully they will arrive on the early evening flight.  We are on standby to do a run to the airport to pick them up. 

I turned No. 1 out with her flock this afternoon.  Since alpha gander has adopted the toulouse, he will not leave their side yard fence, so I can still keep a close eye on her.  I've got the indoor pen cleaned up and ready to receive my buff babies.

I also took my grey dewlaps outside for a bit.  For the first few minutes, they ran around and ate grass like they were enjoying things, but quickly decided the outside was way too scary for them.   Spirit was the bravest until one knocked her over onto her back.  After that she wanted nothing to do with being on the ground.  Then when walking back to carrier (carrying Spirit) my other girl tripped while running and fell over onto back, spooking her.  All in all they could not wait to get back to their safe pen inside the house.  They are just like Barley... BIG BABIES!!!
