Hello,

I couldn't find my original post...But I am trying to find out wether the below little darling is a male or female..Anyone have any idea?

He/She got a bit wet in the down pour this morning.

2 x Isa Browns (Nugget & Parma), 1 x White Sussex (Kiev), 2 x Australorps (Apricot & Butter) 3 x Silkies (Honey, Lemon and Satay) 2 x dogs (Sasha & Hal), 4 x fish & 1 x Canary (Carlos)!

Do you mind me asking how you can tell cos I have no idea...I have never had silkies before.

It's still a little young to tell for sure. It would be a lot esier if I saw it in person. But the cockerels have the feathers on their head with the swept back look. Then they get the streamers off of the back of the head and neck. And they usually stand taller, more stretched out, gangly looking. The pullets have more of a rounded head, like a puff ball. They are usually shorter, squatty, rounder looking. The white one looks like a girl.
