With several comments about finding it hard to obtain good quality Brabanters, has anyone purchased from Sandhill? Where have you found good quality stock? If our town changes it's regs, this is...
First, watching a runner duck run is awesome. They can find their own food. They aren't like pekins in water. Mine haven't started laying but I heard their decent.
Ugh. Geez. I feel like all my eggs look similar. I have 17 and this is our first time incubating.
Thanks for your input everyone!
Did u wash the eggs before putting them in?? sometimes washing them wrong can let bacteria in. or if u didnt sanatize ur hands while handling them, or clean the bator before setting them. lots of things can cause blood rings.
No, I didn't wash them or rub them at all. I also wash my hands before handling them. I have read a lot, and feel like I kind of know what I am doing. We shall see I guess. If it doesn't work, we will just try again.

Good luck!! Hoping for the best!! Let us know how they doo
I know it's discouraging. I had 18 in my bator and they were alive and kicking at lockdown. Only 4 have hatched. I'm leaving them... hope of hopes. But they'll go out tomorrow as they are becoming little bombs.
I have duck eggs coming in March. I'm scared to death I'm gonna kill them too.
